Since those who aspire to be born in the Pure Land all attain their aim, the sutra encourages us to accept this teaching. The picture in this section describes the devotee's mental attitude in terms of acts of virtue, such as giving alms to a monk, setting free a bird in captivity, and listening to a sermon. In the cloud above the house are good deities watching over the devotees. They also chase away evil spirits; ared and a green demon are seen running away in the dark cloud above the ine tree on the left-hand side.
